And in a followup to our 2016 articles on financing ocean planning and management and impact investing for marine conservation and management, Blue finance has just announced a public-private partnership for co-management of a marine protected area in the Dominican Republic. International impact investors will provide the major financing for the initial capital expenditures of the co-management company. Over time, the company will become financially sustainable and generate its own incomes from user fees and tourism.
