Given the rapidity with which new technologies are advancing, we at MEAM wanted to catch up with leading technologists to learn which technologies they are using in their work, and which ones they feel will be most influential in improving ocean management and ecosystem health. We spoke with Matt Merrifield, chief technology officer at The Nature Conservancy; Dawn Wright, chief scientist at Esri; Renata Ferrari Legorreta, a spatial and quantitative ecologist at the University of Sydney; and Kerry Sink, marine program manager at the South African National Biodiversity Institute.
